Solihull Moors: big ambitions and a family welcome at Damson Park

Solihull Moors may be one of the younger clubs in the National League, but they have packed plenty of drama into their short history, and they are working hard to bring the next generation of fans through the gates at Damson Park.
The club was formed on 10 July 2007 through the merger of two local sides, Moor Green, founded in 1901, and Solihull Borough, founded in 1953. Known as the Moors, they won the National League North in 2015-16 to step up to the National League, the fifth tier of English football, and finished second in 2018-19, their best league finish.
Big days have followed. The Moors reached the National League play-off final in 2022, losing to Grimsby Town after extra time, and returned in 2024, when they lost to Bromley on penalties at Wembley. The same season they reached the final of the FA Trophy, finishing as runners-up to Gateshead.
Damson Park, sponsored as the ARMCO Arena, holds 5,500 and has grown steadily, with a two-tier stand next to the clubhouse offering around 1,300 seats and hospitality. The record crowd of 4,020 came for the 2022 play-off semi-final against Chesterfield. The ground is also home to Birmingham City Women, who have played there since 2014.
The club is keen to make football affordable for families. For 2026-27 home National League matches, under-12s can watch for £1, 12 to 15 year olds for £7.50 and 16 to 24 year olds for £11, with registration through the free Young Supporters Membership Scheme. The Moors Foundation runs the women's first team along with youth and junior programmes, while academy players such as Flynn Coffey have been making their mark.
Getting there is easy too, with the X12 bus running every 15 to 20 minutes from Solihull town centre and Birmingham International.
Home fixtures this autumn include Carlisle United on 24 October and Kidderminster Harriers on 31 October, both at 3pm, ideal for a first family trip to Damson Park.
Tickets, fixtures and details of the Young Supporters scheme are on the Solihull Moors website.
