Medivine Salon brings independent glamour to Burlington Arcade

Tucked inside Burlington Arcade on New Street, among high-end jewellery and clothes stores, is a salon that has quietly become one of the city centre's best loved independents. Medivine is a unisex hair and beauty salon, and its story is one of hard work and attention to detail.
Owner Milad Yousifi was born in Iran and settled in Birmingham at a young age. After working as a hairdresser in a beauty salon, he used that experience to set up on his own, and Medivine opened nearly three years before Central BID profiled it in September 2026. He now leads a dedicated team of five.
The menu covers almost everything a beauty fan could want. Hair is at the core, with personalised cuts, colouring and styling, alongside balayage, highlights, keratin treatments and extensions. Nails are a big draw too, from manicures and pedicures to BIAB builder gel, while the team also offers lash extensions and lifts, brow shaping, threading, waxing and men's grooming for beards, haircuts and shaves. Brides are well looked after, with wedding hair and make-up available.
Quality products are a point of pride. "I'm always looking for high quality and luxury products," Milad told Central BID, naming Apres Beauty from America and Maria Nila's Stockholm brand among the ranges he uses. "I put a lot of value in having products that are good for people's hair," he said. His philosophy is simple: "My salon is for people who care about themselves."
The salon's own website describes beauty as a form of self-care, promising personalised treatments in a luxurious and welcoming space, with hygiene and safety first.
Clients clearly agree. Central BID reported a 4.9 out of 5 rating from more than 1,000 Google reviews, with customers calling the services "wonderful" and the staff "professional" and "friendly". On Treatwell, where many clients book, the salon also holds a 4.9 rating from thousands of reviews. Central BID notes that sports stars from the worlds of football and cricket are among the regulars.
Medivine is open seven days a week, from 9.30am on weekdays, 9am on Saturdays and 10.30am on Sundays. Treatments can be booked through the Medivine website.
