Colmore Tailors settles into a Colmore Row atelier

Some businesses are built on a big launch. Colmore Tailors was built one suit at a time. Founded in 2015 by tailoring specialist Scott Caddick, the bespoke menswear house moved in 2025 into a new atelier on Colmore Row, the street it was named after.
Caddick had worked for other tailors and a well-known tailoring brand, and he was frustrated by how little passion and knowledge he saw. So he started his own business in a back room, determined to be open and honest and to make classical, timeless bespoke menswear. His first clients came from the city's legal and professional sectors, and his very first client is still a client and friend today.
In the early days Colmore Tailors grew through word of mouth as what it calls Birmingham's first "out of hours" tailor, working when clients were free while Caddick kept his day job. He road-tested different cloths while working his office day job, and one merchant stood out: Dugdale Brothers of Huddersfield.
The style evolved too. In early 2017 the firm moved its making to Portugal, embracing a softer, more Italian cut. Later that year friends at Rosen & Nathan offered workshop space, Caddick went full time, and the business found its first home on Cannon Street. In February 2019 it moved to Temple Street, adding cloth from Loro Piana, Standeven and Brisbane Moss, as well as casual pieces such as overshirts and chinos.
The latest home is a suite in the Grade II listed Imperial & Whitehall building at 23 Colmore Row, alongside boutiques such as Crockett and Jones. The house suit marries English and Italian influences, and the range now includes dinner suits, wedding suits, overcoats, the CityChore jacket and a classic blouson.
The team is growing as well. In September 2026 Colmore Tailors welcomed Jonny, a 23-year-old from Harborne who studied Fashion Styling and Production at the University of the Arts London and has spent five years working as a tailor. "I knew that I wanted to come back home to the lovely people of Birmingham," he wrote.
For anyone who has never had a suit made, it is a friendly place to start. Appointments, cloth news and a price list are on the Colmore Tailors website.
